    Assistant Controller

    Endy is hiring an Assistant Controller who will be a key leader within our Accounting & Finance team. Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will play an integral role in ensuring that all accounting and finance operations run smoothly. In this role, you will be responsible for leading various accounting processes, managing internal controls, as well as optimizing and improving processes. You will dive into analytical projects where you will translate data into insights to help make real-time business decisions.

    What you'll do

    • Take full ownership of month-end processes
    • Prepare and review account reconciliations
    • Review journal entries and month-end accruals
    • Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial analysis
    • Oversee payroll processing
    • Research accounting issues for treatment under IFRS and with compliance to generally accepted accounting principles
    • Ensure conformity with internal accounting policies and business processes, as well as compliance with established internal controls (including approval requirements) with a keen eye toward cost control and accuracy
    • Investigate and implement new technologies and reporting systems to improve efficiency and accuracy of accounting functions and ensure regular maintenance of internal database and records
    • Assist with preparation of year end audits and tax filings
    • Provide training and mentorship to team members
    • Complete other ad-hoc analysis and projects as required

    Who you are

    • 3-5 years’ experience in a finance department role with account reconciliation and accounting experience (experience in public accounting is a plus!)
    • Successful completion of a CPA designation is required
    • Self-starter with a strong sense of personal accountability and ownership in their work
    • Proven ability to effectively manage and prioritize work flow
    • Extremely analytical mindset with an investigative approach to situations
    • Advanced in MS Excel and a good understanding of MS Office Suite
    • Knowledge of Power BI Service or other business analytics tools
    • Ability to carry out assigned projects to completion with minimal supervision
    • High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information
    • Ability to exercise good judgement, show initiative, and be proactive
    • Experience leading/mentoring a small team considered an asset
