    UX/UI Designer (12-month Contract) - Silk & Snow

    Silk and Snow is a Toronto-based, digitally native business that offers thoughtfully designed bedding products with a frictionless customer experience. We are a small and highly collaborative team, looking to add a passionate and detail-oriented UX/UI designer to join the Silk and Snow team on a 12 month contract. You are team-oriented, versatile, collaborative, and eager to take on the different challenges that come with working for an energetic start-up.

    This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting user research, designing wireframes and prototypes, implementation of designs, and iterating designs based on user feedback and rigorous testing.

    Our ideal candidate will have experience creating a cohesive style guide, testing and tracking changes to ensure maximum efficiency, ensuring a consistent design language, maintaining consistency in visual elements, and defining design behaviour.

    What you'll do

    • Design conceptual diagrams, wireframes, information architecture, high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and interaction specifications for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices

    • Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications and design patterns that scale for your team and influence other designers

    • Understand users’ demographic and behavior, including reviewing page speed insights, accessibility, engagement and making recommendations for improvement

    • Ensure consistent brand styling across brand experiences

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and marketers, to ensure alignment between design, development, and business goals

    • Responsible for the successful implementation of designs and features, iterating designs as required based on tests, key metrics, and user behaviour

    Who you are

    • 3+ years of experience working in a UX/UI Design role (eCommerce preferred)

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Design or related discipline

    • A background in design, preferably in consumer brand or marketing/creative agency

    • Expert knowledge in design tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator

    • Graphic design experience an asset

    • Knowledge of HTML/CSS

    • Demonstrated knowledge of the latest interaction design patterns and trends

    • A strong storyteller with a clear eye for imagery that supports brand identity

    • Strong creative instincts and an eye for colour and pattern

    • Experience leveraging analytics tools (Google Analytics/GA4) and tracking user behaviour
